Important Note: This fanfic is old, and in my opinion not very good. But I hope you enjoy reading it anyways! *end of note*

A/N: This is...something I made in my spare time. The idea for this story came to me after reading a bunch of reader inserts, where the reader and several characters from the movie/game it is set in discover what "shipping" means. They find pairings of themselves on the internet, and it usually ends up with everyone having a shipping war, arguing over which pairing is the best. For this story, it's a little bit different; this time there is only one pairing, you and Javik! Hope you enjoy this!

Bit of a crackfic, but who doesn't like crack stories every now and then?

Warnings: Some swearing, minimal violence, possible OOC, mild innuendo, and my OC Ace being a troll, per the norm. There is also some dialogue that is spelled badly on purpose, because it's some text messages.



Being part of Commander Shepard's crew was never easy. Mostly because Shepard usually did the most dangerous missions, or the fact that Shepard attracted danger like a magnet. But he was a force to be reckoned with, and he never turned down helping someone in need. He also tried his hardest to save everyone, and making the difficult decisions that would break someone who didn't have a strong will. Shepard's will was really strong, almost unbreakable. Hell, he got spaced and nearly died, and even THAT didn't stop him!

So in a way, Commander Shepard was a saint, sent from heaven above.

Commander Shepard was quite the hero, everybody in the whole galaxy knew who he was. He had many fans, ones that would cheer him on. Some fans even made a fan site on the extranet for Shepard, "Shepard and the Normandy crew" was it's name. This site was all about Shepard and his crew. The things you would find on the site were interesting, news about Shepard's latest victories, some of the things he accomplished, some topics talking about Shepard and his crew, even some pictures and footage some people got of him and his crew mates, because sometimes whenever he visited the Citadel some people would get their devices (like a camera drone) out and film whatever he or his other crew members were doing at the moment. Sometimes the site would have these random polls that people would vote in, such as: "Favorite squad mate," "Sexiest male crew member," and stuff like that. Once there was a poll about the sexiest female crew member, you ended up winning that one for some reason. There were a lot of unhappy female crew members that were jealous of you winning, but the jealousy died down rather fast.

Speaking of that site, Ace had recently sent you a message on your datapad to check the site out. It read: "Hey there (y/n), u got 2 check out da fan site, there is sumthin' u got 2 see! It's a new topic, at the top of the 'What's hot' section of da site. Ur gonna like it! ~Ace. PS: 2 bad the poll on who Shep should be paired with was pointless, becuz he is already wit Liara. I wanted 2 go out wit Shep, he's hawt! Oh well, I think dat Garrus might be interested in me tho, cuz he asked if I wanted to hang out wit him @ da Citadel next time we dock there. Wish me luck! "

You chuckled at her message (and how she spelled most words wrong on purpose.) What she said about the site had you interested, because you wanted to know what the new topic was about. So using your datapad, you searched up the site. Once the main page of the site loaded, you then went to the "What's hot" section, to see what Ace told you to look at. A little curiosity never hurt anyone, right?

But the new topic on the page had you dropping the datapad right on the floor out of shock, eyes wide as dinner plates.

The title of the new hot topic? "Human and Prothean: Are Javik and (y/n) an item?"

"What the actual fuck!" You screeched. Where did this come from?!

After recovering from shock, you picked up the datapad from the floor and sat down in one of the chairs at the table in the mess hall, looking at the page again. Below the title was a video of you and Javik, it was recorded by a person on the site with the username of "N7Shepardfangurl" and wanting to know what the hell was going on, you pressed play. When the video started playing, you recognized what was going on; the video was taken when the Normandy was docked at the Citadel a week ago. You and Javik were in the presidium that day, engaging in small talk.


-Flashback-


The Normandy was docked at the Citadel, Shepard decided to come here so he could have some "downtime" with Liara. There was a good thing about this, you now had an opportunity to show your Prothean crew mate the awesomeness of the presidium. To be honest, your relationship with Javik was interesting. After being found on Eden Prime, he didn't seem to care about anything besides defeating the Reapers for good. That and he was dismissive of everyone else, as if thinking the he was above everyone or something. That didn't stop you from trying to be his friend, though. Because you were stubborn, always determined to take on any challenge, even if that so called challenge was trying to befriend the last living Prothean. Javik didn't seem to care about being friends at first, but after a while he realized that you weren't going to give up, so he reluctantly agreed to be friends. You were happy about that, so in return you helped him out with "learning the ropes" in your cycle, as he called it. You noticed that he enjoyed being around you more than anyone else on the Normandy, of course when you asked him why, he said that you were one of the least annoying people on the ship. You were happy knowing that, because he acted like he was annoyed with just about everyone else. When you asked him who he thought were the most annoying people on the Normandy, he said it was a tie between Liara and Ace. You agreed on that, except that you would much rather deal with Ace than Liara anytime. Of course when Ace overheard that she was tied for being the most annoying person on the whole ship, needless to say she whined about it for at least an hour. ("Me, annoying?! But I'm awesome!")

So here you were, in the elevator headed to the presidium so you could show Javik how awesome it is.

"I do not understand why I have to see the presidium." Javik said the moment the doors closed.

You grinned. "Because the view is amazing! You'll love it!"

Javik was silent for a moment, before asking, "Do I have a choice in this matter?"

"Nope!"

"I thought as much."

Soon the elevator stopped on the right level, and you both walked out. "Annnd we are here! Follow me!" You spoke with confidence, and began walking towards your destination, Javik following behind. The walk was short, and when you reached the area you planned to go. You raised your arm, gesturing to the amazing view. "Here it is, the awesome view point I mentioned!"

Javik walked towards the rail that was placed before the view, resting both hands on it. His gaze looking at the rather beautiful view of the presidium. You were right, it was amazing. He looked to his left, noticing you resting on the rail with both hands as well.

You looked at him. "So, what do ya think? You like what you see?" You asked, a big smile on your face.

He nodded, "Yes, it is quite impressive."

"Yay!" You cheered, doing a fist pump. He chuckled at this.

While you returned your gaze to the lovely view, Javik did not turn his gaze away from you. The view was not the only beautiful thing he was currently seeing, as the other thing of beauty was standing next to him. When he first met you, he didn't really seem to care much, but you were quite persistent when it came to being his friend. After a while, he realized that you weren't going to give it up, so he decided to be friends with you. And he didn't regret it at all; you were easy to talk to, and unlike some people (*cough* Liara *cough*) you didn't constantly ask him questions. After a while, Javik seemed to grow quite fond of you. And soon it started to turn into something more; he would often glance at you when you weren't watching, whenever someone would bring you up in a conversation he would appear more interested than normal, he would feel somewhat excited when Shepard would bring you both on a mission, when some random male crew member of the Normandy would hit on you he would send them a glare that would make them stop what they were doing and run away, he did this because he would find himself getting jealous seeing other men hit on you, and to top it all off you were the only person on the entire ship that he would call by their name!

Javik was confused about these feelings at first, not understanding why he was feeling strange around you, that was until Ace teased him that he was in love with you. He denied it at first, but realized that was the truth, he was in love with you. But he kept it hidden, not because you were a human and he was Prothean, but because he didn't know how you would react if he told you. If you didn't feel the same, your friendship would be ruined, and he didn't want that. Because if that happened, it would feel worse than a headbutt from a Krogan.

"Um, do I have something on my face?"

Your voice cut through his thoughts, and he realized that he'd been caught staring at you. Oops. He mentally facepalmed for doing something that made him look foolish.

"My apologies (y/n), I was caught up in my thoughts." He replied.

You nodded in understanding, turning your gaze back to the view, and he thanked whatever god was out there that you didn't ask what he was thinking about. Javik suddenly realized that he didn't thank you for taking him out here. He glanced back at you.

"(Y/n)."

You felt his hand move over to yours that was resting on the rail, grasping it gently. You swore that your face must have turned redder than a tomato. You turned to look at him, your eyes meeting his, he was smiling. "Yes Javik?"

"Thank you for taking me here." He said.

You gave him a smile of your own. "Your welcome..."

And with that, you both turned to look at the view, his hand never letting go of your own. This was a perfect moment.

Little did you know, that someone's camera drone was filming the whole scene, from the moment you both got there to admire the view...


-Flashback end-


The video came to a stop, and you didn't know what to think. You couldn't deny that you had developed a (big) crush on Javik, but you couldn't tell him that! Despite your friendship with him, you were still a human, and you were certain that he wouldn't feel the same. So you kept it to yourself. Of course you still wondered why he had chased off any of the male crew members that would try to hit on you, but you figured that he was being a friend and saving you from those guys that wouldn't take a hint. You sighed, running a hand through your hair.

You looked at the description that was posted below the video, it was written by the person who filmed it. It read: "Hey there! This is your favorite extranet blogger N7Shepardfangurl with a video of two crew members from the Normandy: Javik, the last living Prothean, and (y/n) the human biotic! From what it seems, these two seem to be interested in each other. It's obvious by the way Javik looks at (y/n), he is clearly fond of her! And she must feel the same as well, the smile on her face when he held her hand proves it! Are they an item? I think so! Do you ship it?"

You frowned at the description, this person was assuming that you two were dating just because of one simple action? You decided to look at the comments posted by other users. You wondered if they thought you and Javik were an item as well. For a moment you thought that these people were not going to assume that you and Javik were a couple, but your thoughts were proved wrong.

Some of the comments:

"OMG they are perfect for each other!"

"It's so fluffy, I'm gonna die!"

"I just found my new OTP! Javik x (y/n) 4ever!"

"I totally ship it!"

You couldn't believe it, these people were crazy! It was only a damn video! A few seconds later, a new comment popped up. It read: "Yep, I just found my new favorite ship! They are just perfect for each other! I hope they get together!~ "

You noticed the username for the comment was "Ace-iz-da-best" and you scowled. Of course she had to add her two cents! You grumbled to yourself, soon hearing footsteps approach you. "Told you that you'd like it!" Ace's voice rang out from behind you. You turned around from your spot in the chair, facing her with a glare. She was smirking, and you had the urge to slap that smirk right off her face. She walked around the table, sitting on the chair that was opposite of yours.

"Don't gimme that look! You know that you like him!" She said in a sing-song voice.

"Shut your trap, Ace." You spat, "I am not in the mood for this shit right now."

"Chill out, I wasn't the one who made the video! I just wanted to show you, that's all!"

You sighed again, pinching the bridge of your nose. "Whatever, I just can't believe that these people would assume that me and him are dating because of a simple action in the stupid video! If anyone else on the ship saw this page..."

You stopped right there, because if anyone else on the Normandy DID see this, it would destroy you. So you gave Ace your best "I'm dead serious" face, and told her what she needed to know.

"Ace, do NOT show this page to anybody on the ship! Especially Javik! If you do, I will beat your sorry ass! Do I make myself clear?"

She nodded her head, "Okay (y/n), nobody will find out! But that doesn't mean I won't stop teasing you about your crush on him!"

You growled, of course she would say that. She had been teasing you about your crush on Javik ever since she found out you liked him. So of course she would continue to tease you, she was such a troll, and it annoyed you to no end. She was a good friend though, she just loved messing with others, but mostly you. Which is why she ended up in the med bay quite often.

"You suck." You grumbled at her.

"And you swallow." She replied.

Your eyes went wide. "WHAT?!" You screeched, getting up from the chair you sat in. Ace got up as well, holding her hands up in defense. She was on the other side of the table, so she thought she would be safe. No such luck.

"Hehehe, um well-" She tried to explain herself for making that comment, but she never got to finish.

With a battle cry, you tackled her by nose diving over the table. Her chair fell on the floor, and you were currently on top of her, trying to teach her a lesson for being lewd. She was yelling for help, while you were pretty much strangling her. Soon Javik walked into the room, he was here to talk to you, EDI told him where you were. What he did not expect was you and Ace fighting on the floor.

"(Y/n), what are doing?"

His voice made you both stop what you were doing, staring at him. You and Ace both noticed that the position you were in was quite awkward; you were on top of her, and she was struggling from beneath you. It looked, well wrong. Not to mention suggestive.

"This is not what it looks like!" Ace blurted out.

"Shush it!" You hissed, and turned to look at Javik. "Ace was being lewd again, and I got fed up!"

He nodded in understanding. "How typical of you Ace, Going out of your way to make (y/n) angry."

Ace pouted, "You're so mean..." she whined.

You grumbled, she was really a child at times. But you and Javik knew one thing: you both would rather be around her than Liara. Because unlike Liara, Ace didn't ask questions over and over again, and she wasn't a personal space invader. Because she was human, and respected personal space, unlike the Asari.

"So," Ace suddenly spoke up, "are you gonna get off me anytime soon? To be honest I'll bet that you would prefer if it wasn't me and you in this position, but if it was you and-"

*Flick!*

"Ouchie! Why'd ya flick my nose? I'm not a dog!" Ace whined after you flicked her nose, she really needed to learn to keep her mouth shut...


-Timeskip!-


Shepard was on a mission to rescue scientists that used to work for Cerberus, he brought you and Javik for the mission. The planet was cold, and you bet that if Ace were here she would make a remark about freezing her "watermelons" off. How charming. As the three of you picked off the Cerberus troopers that were attacking some of the scientists, you saw that Jacob Taylor was defending them, but was shot. You destroyed the generators that powered up the shield pylons, and soon all the Cerberus enemies were dead. Unfortunately Jacob was the only survivor, the scientists he was defending were dead, but there was still hope for the rest inside the building.

"You alright Jacob?" Shepard asked, helping him up and heading inside.

"I'll be fine." He replied.

After heading inside, Dr. Brynn Cole was there to greet you. Jacob headed to the med bay, while sneaking a glance at you.

"Hey (y/n), nice to see you!"

"Same here." You replied.

After heading upstairs, it was discovered that there weren't just scientists in the building, there were families too. Shepard stated that this mission just got more desperate, which was true. He then decided to see how Jacob was doing, he was okay but could not help out that much during the rest the mission. Jacob asked if he could talk with you for a moment before you headed outside again, you accepted, while Javik and Shepard waited for you outside the room.

"So (y/n)," he began "the other squad mate with you is Javik, right?"

"Yeah, why?" you asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Well, I would like you to know that I ship it." he replied.

You froze on the spot, completely shocked. "Wha? How did you-"

"I saw it on the fan site after deciding to check it out for the hell of it."

You frowned, this was really getting out of hand! You looked at Jacob with a glare, and decided to let him know that this information would not leave this room.

"You better not say anything Jacob, or the next suicide mission you get will involve you trying to escape my wrath. Do I make myself clear?"

"Crystal clear (y/n), you have my word." He replied, still smiling though. He knew that you weren't really gonna kick his ass.

You managed to complete the mission, with Jacob and Brynn escaping with you guys on the shuttle driven by Cortez. Jacob sent you a knowing smirk while you were all in the shuttle, and everyone else couldn't help but wonder why you kept giving him the stink-eye during the ride back...


~timeskip~


Sitting in your room, you decided to check out the site again, or to be specific the "Javik x (y/n)" fan-page. You thought that it would die down after a while, but it got worse. Now it had MORE fans, and they proved that they shipped you two. With fanart, fanfictions, the whole thing! It was making you crazy, you didn't know what to do. Your web searching was interrupted by EDI.

"(Y/n), Ace is currently on the crew deck, and she is doing something that you would not be pleased about."

"What is she doing?" You asked, a little worried.

"Showing some other crew members a certain extranet site."

You rushed out of your room, shouting an "OH HELL NO!" along the way. You walked into the mess hall area, and what you saw made you stop dead. Ace was showing the fan-page to some of the other squad mates! Which included Garrus, Liara, Tali, and James, even Mari and Cortez were there as well! But your sudden outburst made everyone stop what they were doing and stare at you.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING ACE?!"

Said girl just shrugged, "Showin' off your little fan-page!" She laughed, going to get a glass of water. "And these guys ship it too! Right?"

The many comrades in the mess hall indeed shipped you and Javik, and they told you so.

"Yes, you two would make a great pair. I should write this down in my Prothean notes..."

"I agree, I've seen the way you two look at each other when I'm driving the shuttle on the missions where Shepard takes you both with him."

"Not to mention that he seems quite fond of you. Keelah, you're the only one he calls by your name!"

"Fireball paired up with Buggy? Hell yeah."

You couldn't believe what was going on! The nerve of Ace to do this to you! Right now she was currently with a glass of water, thirsty from all the work she does down in engineering. It was quiet for a few moments, until James spoke up.

"So Fireball," he began, "if you and Javik were to get together, that would be great and all, but how would it work if you two decided to blow off steam, know what I'm getting at?"

Oh god no. His question made your jaw hit the floor, while everyone else in the room stared at him in shock. Well except for Ace, unfortunately she had taken a drink of water when James asked the question. She laughed during mid sip, and that caused water to spew out of her nose. Then she began coughing, face red as a tomato. Good grief.

"Ah crap, someone help her out." Garrus spoke up.

Mari decided to help, patting Ace on the back while calling her an idiot. You looked at James, furious at his question. You started ranting about how he "couldn't just say things like that" and what not. Because you were so busy yelling at James, you didn't notice Javik enter the room, nor did you notice Ace -who had stopped choking- walk up to him and show him the fan-page. When you noticed everyone else stare at the scene behind you, you turned around, and felt your blood turn to ice.

"Ace! I'm gonna kill you!" You roared, tackling her from behind. While you and Ace were busy having another fight, Javik looked at the fan-page. He was surprised that some people thought you two should be together, making his feelings a lot clearer. Maybe he had a chance now. Then a few moments later, Shepard entered the room, and broke up the fight between you and Ace. Joker had called him over the comm, saying that he had better stop the fight before somebody got hurt. Needless to say, Shepard was highly not amused.


-Later-


Ace was in the med bay, after the little fight she had with you, she was a little roughed up. Dr. Chakwas treated her, while giving her a lecture on how making you mad was not a good idea. Soon Ace was able to leave, and she walked out of the med bay. She was on her way to engineering, when Javik stopped her.

"Human, I require your attention."

Ace looked at him, "For what?"

"It's about (y/n), and the so called 'fan-page' of her and me-"

"You love her, and you want to tell her that you love her." She interrupted.

"Yes. I love her."

"Well she is in her room, so get in there and tell her how you feel!"

And with that, Javik headed to your room. Ace grinned like a shark, glad that you were about to find someone who cares about you. She walked up to where Mari was standing, and stood next to her.

"He's gonna tell her!" She nearly squealed. "And (y/n) is gonna score!"

Mari raised a brow, "What do you mean, she's gonna score?"

Ace chuckled, "Is your head full of hot air? When I say, 'score' I mean they're gonna-"

A loud *Smack!* was heard throughout the room, from Mari smacking Ace upside the head.

"Ouchie! I just got outta the med bay!"

"Then stop making dirty comments! It's not appropriate!"

"It's ALSO not appropriate to get drunk off your ass and twerk upside down against a wall, so I don't know why you're-"

*Smack!* "THAT WAS A ONE TIME THING, AND IT HAPPENED A LONG TIME AGO!"

"Ow! Well you STILL got drunk and twerked upside down! Not to mention you also started singing 'Worth it' by Fifth Harmony. Your voice was really off key, too! Really, the whole scenario was totally weird and-"

*Smack!* "I WAS DRUNK! A LOT OF PEOPLE DO STUPID SHIT WHILE DRUNK! MYSELF INCUDED, UNFORTUNATELY!"

"OW! DAMMIT! STOP HITTING ME!"


~In your room~


You sat on the edge of your bed, thinking about what happened earlier. It was downright embarrassing, mostly because Ace showed most of your friends that dreaded fan-page. Now Javik has seen it, he must probably think differently about you now. You were so busy thinking that you didn't notice Javik walking into your room, and standing in front of you.

"Can we talk, (y/n)?" He asked.

"About what?" You sighed, not looking at him.

"Do you...have feelings for me?"

You hesitated, you didn't know what to do. You thought about lying about your feelings, but decided against that, because it was likely that he wouldn't buy it. You took a deep breath, and told him the truth.

"Yes Javik, I do have feelings for you. I have for a while now, but I didn't say anything because I was afraid. I was scared that you didn't feel the same, and I didn't want to ruin our friendship. But I just can't hide it anymore, I like you a lot! You could say I even love you. I know that we aren't the same species; you are a Prothean and I'm a human. But I don't care about that, it doesn't matter if you aren't the same species, what matters is that if you love somebody, you deserve to be with the one you love! So...yeah, now you know."

You finally finished your little confession, out of breath. Javik was silent, so you took this as rejection and refused to look at him. But when his hand rested on the side of your face, you looked up at him, a little surprised. He was smiling at you.

"Now I know that you feel the same." Was all he said, before suddenly kissing you on the lips.

Your (e/c) windened, where did THAT come from? You decided to just go with it, and responded to the kiss. Your heart was racing so fast that you swore that it would burst right out of your chest, like the Xenomorph from the Alien movies. Never in your wildest dreams did you think that this would ever happen, but it was happening. Javik was being gentle with you, something you didn't expect from him. He pulled away after a bit, because neither of you could live without air. He was still smiling at you, and the shade of your face matched his armor.

"It would seem that you enjoyed that." He teased.

"Yeah I did..." You muttered, a small smile on your face.

He chuckled and pulled you close, hands resting on your waist. "Good. Now let me ask you, will you be mine?"

"Hell yes." You replied.

"Very well, but there is one thing..." He leaned in closer to your face, "you will be mine, and only mine."

You nodded, giving him a quick kiss. "I wouldn't have it any other way."

Javik smiled once more, and you gladly returned one of your own. He pulled you into a loving embrace. The two of you stayed like that for a while. You both knew that you had found something to live for, to keep going on. Something other than war. And Javik was looking forward to the end of the war, so he could live in peace with the one that held his heart: you.


~Extended ending!~


Ace was talking with Joker, while he was in his pilot seat. They were good friends, and often engaged in small talk. Joker called Ace up to the cockpit to ask her a question; it involved her and Garrus.

"So tell me, what happened between you and Garrus?" He asked.

Ace scoffed, "No way Joker, I don't kiss and tell!"

"Oh come on! I wanna know!"

"Too bad! That's on a 'need-to-know-' basis my friend!"

Joker whined, "You're no fun..."

Their conversation was interrupted by an angry call from you over the comm. "Joker and Ace! When I get up there, I'm gonna kill you both!"

Joker and Ace froze, what happened that made you angry at them both? Ace decided to ask him. "Um Joker, why does (y/n) want to kill us?"

Joker laughed nervously, "Uh, remember those Javik x (Y/n) 'fanfictions' that you and I wrote as a joke the other day?"

Ace rose an eyebrow, "You mean, those fanfictions?"

"I may have, ah, posted them on the Javik x (y/n) fan-page by mistake..." Joker trailed off.

"Oh shit! Those were NEVER meant to be put up there!" Ace exclaimed.

"It was an accident!"

"Doesn't matter now! What does matter is that you fucked up!"

"I'm sorry, okay?!"

"It's too late to be sorry!"

EDI spoke up, interrupting the Ace vs. Joker shouting match, "Should I call Shepard up here?"

"Yes!" Joker yelled.

"Right now!" Ace screeched.

"On it, Jeff and Ace." EDI replied.

Both Ace and Joker waited in the same spot, hoping that Shepard would reach them before you did. Ace had already been sent to the med bay several times because of pissing you off, and Joker knew that he would receive even more damage than Ace. Because unlike Ace, who was tough as nails, Joker had "brittle bone disease" which meant his bones would snap like twigs if you got your hands on him.

"Well, if I die here, there is one thing for sure." Ace began.

Joker was curious, "And what is that Ace?"

"At least I won't die a virgin!" She stated.

Hearing this, Joker's face lit up. "So something DID happen between you and Garrus?!"

"NOT THE TIME JOKER!"
